The founder of logotherapy is Viktor Frankl. He put into the basis of logotherapy the concept of super sense. Such a super sense is impossible to comprehend with the help of rational means, and it is wider than human knowledge. Only if a person has the will to meaning his personality will be able to meet with the super sense, because of which he will be free and able to be responsible for their actions. Therefore, the will to meaning is the human desire to grasp the meaning.

The methods of therapy are quite practical and effective in application. There are three main techniques of logotherapy like paradoxical intention, dereflection and logoanalyze. They are designed for application in work with patients who are experiencing anxiety, sexual neurosis and obsessive-compulsive syndrome.

The logotherapy techniques are very effective in application. With their help, the main problem that does not allow the patient to live and because of which disappears the meaning of his existence is eliminated. By resolving a difficult situation, a person can open his eyes wider and see how much there is everything he can do. Methods of the therapy are designed to help a person to solve his problems. Because he takes part in the process, the result largely depends on him, his efforts and desire to change the situation.

The process of logotherapy can be described in the next five stages:

a person feels emptiness, frustration or anxiety

thanks to the therapist, he realizes that the reason for his troubles in the unsuccessful search for his own destination

the patient finds the meaning of his own life

the patient decides whether to take it or not

new knowledge gives him the impulse to move on and overcome obstacles.
